Configuring Port Forwarding with Custom Virtual Server
You can setup your Twin WAN device to forward ports on your network through the Custom Virtual Server console. This will permit remote users outside your LAN to access certain servers or devices located behind the Twin WAN device.
Setting up a new Custom Server Configuration
Log into your Twin WAN device. In the navigation bar of the console interface, click on Advanced Setup and select the Customer Virtual Server sub-menu. The Customer Virtual Server console will display the list of all present customer server names and its configuration parameters. Follow the steps below to setup a new port forwarding profile in the Customer Virtual Server console:
| 1. |
In Custom Server Configuration, indicate a new name for your port forwarding profile in the Server Name input field. |
| 2. |
In the State field, select Enable. This sets the port forwarding profile to be active or inactive. |
| 3. |
In the Server IP field, input the server IP address of the device or server application whose ports you want to forward. |
| 4. |
In Protocol Type, select the networking protocol type (TCP or UDP) used by the device or server application being setup for port forwarding. |
| 5. |
In the LAN Port Range field, enter the range of port numbers used for outgoing traffic from the device or server application. If only a single port is required, enter it in both fields. |
| 6. |
In the WAN Port Range field, enter the range of port numbers used for incoming traffic to the device or server application. If only a single port is required, enter it in both fields. |
| 7. |
In the Interface Binding field, select WAN 1, WAN 2, or Both. The forwarded ports will be applied to either WAN port or both based upon which option is selected. When set to Both, remote users accessing the device or server application behind the Twin WAN device can use either WAN IP address for access. |
