If your broadband Internet connection already uses a router, and you want to add additional computers onto your network, follow these instructions:
WARNING: Do not connect the XC-HPEA Ethernet Adapter to a power strip, extension cord or surge protector. This may prevent it from working properly or degrade the network performance.
- Connect the XC-HPEA Ethernet Adapter into a port on your router, broadband modem or networked switch or hub using the included Ethernet cable. Then plug it into a nearby wall outlet.
- Connect a second unit (purchased separately, unless purchased as a kit) into your PC, switch, hub, access point, gaming console or IPTV Set-Top Box, using an Ethernet cable.
- Turn on your PC, gaming console or television and check to make sure all three LEDs turn on. If the LEDs do not turn on, try unplugging the XC-HPEA Ethernet Adapter and plugging it back in.
Your installation is now complete!
Note: The XC-HPEA Ethernet Adapter comes with a preset default network encryption key.
